already being used by governments to track the progress of their restoration targets. It is currently used by 22 governments, endorsed by over 50, and was previously used by additional countries including the United States and Brazil. To address this, the national government of Mozambique formally cemented the Mangrove Management Strategy 2020-2024 into policy through Resolution No. 33\/2020. It aimed to align the restoration efforts occurring at different state and territory levels and create social and economic benefits to the people of Mozambique through restoration.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_slide][et_pb_slide image=”https:\/\/restorationbarometer.org\/restorationreport\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Mozambique_3-01.38.30.jpg” _builder_version=”4.19.2″ _module_preset=”default” body_text_color=”#000000″ body_font_size=”1.15rem” body_line_height=”1.5rem” background_color=”#efefef” background_enable_color=”on” global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_transition=”on”]<\/p>\n The policy catalysed action from leaders and organisations at local levels to advance restoration. A total of 575,000 hectares were prioritised for nine restoration activities, aligned with the country\u2019s existing sectorial, low carbon programs and including the creation of wildlife corridors
